I've enjoyed Moore's work from his Star Trek days, but he took it to a whole new level with his BSG remake. That show genuinely changed perceptions of what sci-fi could do, despite never really becoming a mainstream hit. I'm keen to see what he comes up with next, although I'm also cautious because nearly all of his filmography has been spent working on other people's shows (Star Trek, Carnivale, Good Vs. Evil, Roswell, Touching Evil). Television shows of his own (co-)creation have either failed (Virtuality), or been related to other shows (BSG prequel Caprica).
What do you think? Has RDM's experience with BSG given him the creative push to make this new series an instant winner, or is he best at just adapting other people's ideas, and playing in other creator's sandpits?
