28 WEEKS LATER – TRAILER 1
Dir: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo Stars: Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne & Jeremy Renner

Plot: Seven months after the Rage infection decimated the UK population, the US army has restored order and is busy repopulating London with survivors. But an infection gets through their quarantine...

Outlook: The original was a huge hit, particularly in the US, and helped spawn the current craze for zombie films. The sequel looks to be a fitting continuation with its own story to tell and the scenes of a near-empty London are impressive. It could be a slick but vacuous cash-in, but the trailer is solid.

DAY WATCH – TRAILER 1
Dir: Timur Bekmambetov Stars: Konstantin Khabensky & Mariya Poroshina

Plot: A man involved in the battle between Light and Dark discovers a device that can restore life to Moscow, which was nearly destroyed by an apocalyptic event...

Outlook: This is the Russian-language sequel to Night Watch, which was a box-office smash-hit in its native country last year. Like it's predecessor's trailer, this is stuffed with imaginative and captivating visuals. Check out the man getting hit by a bus... or the red sports car skidding along a building's side... or the Ferris Wheel rolling down a street... but I'm cautious. Why? Well, Night Watch had a similarly fantastic trailer, but the actual movie was derivative and confusing. I just hope Day Watch contains more clarity. Fabulous trailer, mind.

EVAN ALMIGHTY - Trailer 2
Dir: Tom Shadyac Stars: Steve Carrell & Morgan Freeman

Plot: God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark to prepare for the second Great Flood...

Outlook: Very positive. The Jim Carrey original was very good and this looks even better, despite the loss of the "God-given powers" hook. Steve Carrell looks to be on hilarious form here and the visuals with all the animals, together with the flood, are fantastic. Morgan Freeman back as God is just the icing on the cake.

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY – TRAILER 1
Dir: Dennis Dugan Stars: Adam Sandler, Jessica Biel & Kevin James

Plot: Two fire-fighters pretend to be gay lovers in order to receive domestic partner benefits...

Outlook: I've never been a fan of Adam Sandler and this doesn't look like it'll help change my mind on that. But, as comedy trailers go, it has a few amusing lines and the concept is funny enough. But can it sustain a whole movie? I already feel like I've seen enough after the trailer! Jessica Biel in her underwear should be reason enough for guys to download and take a peek, though. Could be fun...

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END – TRAILER 2
Dir: Gore Verbinski Stars: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom & Keira Knighley

Plot: The pirates must travel to the edge of the word and make their final alliances for a decisive battle...

Outlook: The third and final (if you believe fat cats) in the Pirates trilogy reaches our shores this summer, continuing the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow. The trailer shows a bewildering amount of CGI-assisted antics and gorgeous scenery, with lots of swashbuckling and family-friendly comedy.

RATATOUILLE – TRAILER 1
Dir: Brad Bird Voices: Patton Oswalt, Brad Garrett & Peter O'Toole

Plot: A rat living in a famous French restaurant dreams of becoming a chef and gets his chance with the help of a young cook...

Outlook: Three words guarantee quality here -– Pixar and Brad Bird. Pixar have established themselves as the best people working in computer animation, while Bird's previous movies include classics like The Iron Giant and The Incredibles. Ratatouille doesn't instantly strike me as a full-proof idea (are kids interested in cooking?) but the animation looks superb and, if Bird is involved, the story will be more developed than most live-action output these days. One to watch.

SPIDER-MAN 3 – TRAILER 3
Dir: Sam Raimi Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst & Thomas Haden Church

Plot: Peter Parker is about to get engaged, but faces problems before he can pop the question to M.J: his uncle's real killer is revealed, a vengeful Harry surfaces and an alien parasite attaches itself to him...

Outlook: The third Spider-Man film is packed with villains and, consequently, bursting at the seams with special FX and stunts. Sam Raimi has put together some great new actors to go alongside the established stars and the trailer is awash with jaw-dropping moments. I'm excited.

STARDUST – Trailer 1
Dir: Matthew Vaughn Stars: Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DeNiro & Claire Danes

Plot: A young man makes a promise to his beloved that he'll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into a magical realm...

Outlook: Matthew Vaughn bailed from X-Men 3 to make this challenging movie (in terms of production). It certainly looks interesting and the cast are all big names, but there's also the vague sense that beyond its stars and nice effects the actual story is hard to get a handle on. Still, even at 50, Michelle Pfeiffer doesn't look a day over 30. Simply amazing.
