If you have The FX Channel, you absolutely must watch Dexter this Sunday. Failure is not an option. I've mentioned this show before here, remember? The show is about a Miami forensics expert called Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under), a seemingly ordinary joe who is actually a serial-killer. American Psycho meets CSI.
Of all the new US shows, this was narrowly beaten by Heroes for my pick of the best. In fact, strictly in terms of acting and writing, it's actually far better. Michael C. Hall makes for a wonderful anti-hero and the continuing 12-episode plot, concerning Dex's search for The Ice Truck Killer (who he secretly idolizes), is note-perfect drama. Wonderful, tense stuff.
So watch it! Pleeease. I really hope a major network get hold of it soon (Channel 4, buy it!) because this deserves to be seen by a wider audience. If you don't have FX, get a Sky-watching friend to record it for you, or at the very least pick up the inevitable DVD.
I should get commission for this blatant advertising, I know. But it's seriously a great show that I'm eager to see do well in the UK. It will probably go unseen and ignored on the FX Channel unless "word of mouth" gets to work.
Sunday 8 July, 10.00 p.m, The FX Channel.
Go spread the word, guys...
