Review: The trailer is the expected mix of glossy sheen, dark shadows, heartbeat sound effects and fast edits. It doesn't look horrible, but there's nothing to suggest the need for a '07 remake. Do we really need to see how Michael Meyers escapes from custody, etc? Still, Malcolm McDowell is a wonderful choice to replace Donald Pleasance as Dr Loomis.
Prediction: A competent but unnecessary remake that has its charms, but will always be in the shadow of the '78 original. And why is it released on 31 August? Surely 31 October would be better? The clue's in the title, after all...
