Sports comedy The Game Plan, starring The Rock, is a surprise #1; The Kingdom narrowly missed out to on the top spot, to take #2; David Cronenberg's violent Eastern Promises drops to #8 after just 2 weeks; and musical Across The Universe clings to #10.

Amazingly, Simon Pegg comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run is still at #1, with Atonement at #2. There seems to be movie fatigue post-summer now, with no movie breaking the £1m barrier. The new releases this week all clog up mid-chart, with Halloween and The Brave One particular disappointments for the studios. War has a dismal opening week, coming in at #10!

An elite team of US agents are sent to investigate a bombing in the Middle East. Action thriller starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner.
