Well, because of the writers' strike in the US, it seems FOX won't be airing 24's seventh season until all its episodes have been produced.
This actually sounds like a wise decision, as fans won't take kindly to hitting mid-season and having to wait – indefinitely – for continuation.
Of course, it means we face an even longer wait for Day 7. But look on the bright side: for the first time, a season of 24 will have every episode in the can before airing. This means the producers/writers can take an overall look at their season and tighten weak-spots in post-production. This may help eliminate those jarring mid-season scrambles to keep the ball rolling.
Mind you, it also means the writers won't be able to leap on audience reaction – something which prompted last-minute changes to Day 6 in the face of stark criticism, and arguably prevented a bad season from being totally unwatchable.
I'm hopeful having a grand overview of the season will be mostly a good thing. But still... the countdown clock to Day 7's premiere will be ticking a lot longer than we'd hoped...
