Thanks for polling!

Sunday 24 February 2008
Thanks to the 51 people who voted on my poll this week, after I encouraged you to -- for market research purposes.

The results of "Most Popular Current Review" were very close:

Most Popular Reviews: Torchwood (with 41% of the vote)
Runner-Up: Prison Break (with 39% of the vote -- ooh close)
Third: Ashes To Ashes (scraping into third with 21% of the vote)
Joint-Fourth: Lost and Primeval (both with 19% of the vote)
Fifth: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (with 15% of the vote)
Last: Raines (with just 2% of the vote)

While the final results were very close, it was actually more interesting to see what was going on throughout the week. Torchwood was always the most popular from day 1, but there was a surprising amount of love for Prison Break -- which nearly overtook Torchwood at the weekend to win, and Primeval was also very popular...

I was surprised Lost didn't get more love (although it eventually tied with Primeval after a late spurt), but that's probably because there are so many reviews of Lost on the web. Being a UK-based blog, it's only natural the homegrown stuff is more popular than the big US shows everyone blogs about.

Terminator was actually doing well until later in the week -- perhaps due to a surge of interest from UK fans because it started on Virgin1 last week. And, it was perhaps inevitable that little-seen, long-cancelled US drama Raines only got 2 votes. Oh well.

Anyway, thanks again! That gave me a good idea about what's popular, and how best to organize my time. I perhaps should have included Moonlight in the options, judging from all the response the first episode generated from US-based readers!
