Box Office Charts: w/e 7 March 2008

Friday, 7 March 2008
In the US: Will Ferrell's latest sports comedy Semi-Pro slam-dunks in at #1, while period drama The Other Boleyn Girl has to settle with #4 -- despite having Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson in corsets. Post-Oscar buzz helps No Country For Old Men re-enter the Top 10, but God knows why the same happened for Penelope! Bad news for Be (Un)Kind Rewind, which disappears from the chart in only its second week of release!

In the UK: British-made crime flick The Bank Job muscles out Semi-Pro to take #1, with Will Ferrell's comedy having to settle for #2. But neither film even breaks the £1m barrier, so it was a slow week. Uma Thurman's The Accidental Husband debuts at #4, but Diane Lane's internet-thriller Untraceable downloads to #8. Big drops this week for Rambo (down 6 places to #9) and National Treasure 2 (down 5 places to #10).
