So, ITV's US import Pushing Daisies got a very impressive 5.7 million viewers on Saturday night. That's 500,000 more viewers than the timeslot average.
I'm sure those millions can't wait for episode 2 this Saturday. But they won't see it. ITV are skipping it and heading straight to episode 3, because their 8-week schedule won't accommodate the 9-episode season (i.e, the football's on in 8 weeks, innit.)
"Episode two was the only show we could drop without spoiling the storyline," said an ITV spokesman.I agree, it could have been worse. But why not show a double-bill last Saturday? Or episode 2 on Sunday?
Oh well. The episode will be shown when Pushing Daisies is repeated by ITV, but die-hard fans may want to download it. I suppose it gives people an added reason to buy the DVD, too.
