Actress Laila Rouass: another reason to watch Primeval

We're only a few episodes into season 4, but filming has already begun on this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special -- and the South Wales Argus newspaper photographed a Cyberman standing in a Victorian graveyard covered with fake snow...

Exec-producer Russell T. Davis previously confirmed that 2008's seasonal special will be set in Victorian England, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a "Cybus Industries" logo on the Cyberman, meaning it's from the parallel Earth visited in season 2.

Elsewhere, ITV's own sci-fi hit Primeval is gearing up to film its third season (now expanded from 7 to 10 episodes), with new additions to the cast just announced: Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock...) will be playing Danny Quinn ("a maverick policeman drawn into the mystery by the death of his brother"), Footballer's Wives' Laila Rouass (as sexy Egyptologist Sarah Page), and Ben Mansfield (as the team's bodyguard Captain Becker.)

New creatures to be encountered by the team will include the Giganotosaurus, a Pristichampus (ancient crocodile) and a Dracorex -- being hunted by a medieval knight! The conspiracy aspect started in season 2 will also develop, as the team learn more about the anomalies and their place in history.

Battlestar Galactica mastermind Ronald D. Moore is already plotting his next move, as the highly-regarded science-fiction series winds down. He's written a 2-hour TV pilot called Virtuality, about the crew of the spaceship Phaeton, who are sent on a 10-year mission to a distant star, and can utilize a virtual reality program to pass the time. But a mysterious "bug" appears in the system...

Anarchic writer Charlie Brooker (creator of Nathan Barley and writer-presenter of Screenwipe) is busy writing a 6-part horror series for E4, called Dead Set. Nothing is known about the project, except it definitely won't be a comedy.
