24 TVM: Casting

Friday, 23 May 2008
The 24 TVM, acting as a feature-length bridge between season 6 and 7, is scheduled to air in the US on 23 November in a 2-hour timeslot. It will involve Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) in Africa, while a new female President, Allison Taylor (played by Cherry Jones), is sworn into office back in the US.

The producers are busy casting right now. These actors are confirmed as having roles:

Tony Todd (Candyman/Chuck) will play Juma, a cruel African dictator. His character will reappear at some point in season 7.

Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal) will play a US official who serves Jack Bauer a subpoena.

Eric Lively (The L Word) will play the new US president's son.

Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting/28 Weeks Later) will play Jack Bauer's mentor.

From that list, I'm most familiar with Tony Todd (who has the perfect voice for a villain) and Britain's own Robert Carlyle. But given Carlyle's film career (psycho in Trainspotting and Bond Villain), the chances of him being unmasked as a baddie are already pretty high!
