Russell T. Davies has revealed details of Torchwood's third season. As expected, 5 episodes will be produced for 2009 (under the banner "Children Of Earth"), for broadcast on 5 consecutive nights next Spring, on BBC1. The whole season will be directed by Euros Lyn.
Davies added:
"More than ever before, this series of Torchwood will be director-led, and it will look absolutely amazing."
Filming begins on 18 August, although Freema Agyeman won't be returning as Martha Jones, because the actress has accepted a role in Law & Order: London.
In other news, Keither Sutherland has been talking about the likelihood of hit series 24 transferring to the big-screen:
"It's certainly on the table. We would certainly be thrilled to make it, but we're going to wait until the series is finished. It's always been a desire but we've always known that for the writers, it's so hard for them to actually get through the series every year that we put the film on the back burner, that we would do it after the series was over, and that might be as soon as next year."
