True Blood promo & Fringe trailers

Thursday, 7 August 2008

Two trailers for HBO's vampire series True Blood, from the creator of Six Feet Under, have been released. I reviewed an early cut of the Pilot here, and basically saw potential being squandered. Still, this promo looks pretty slick and I still have hope True Blood's broadcast Pilot will have ironed out its kinks. It debuts on 7 September in the States.

There's also a cool new trailer for Fringe (which I reviewed here awhile back), and a viral marketing trailer based on the show's concept of a "pattern" of abnormalities around the world. Intriguing. At the moment, I'm convinced Fringe is going to be THE new show to see.

UPDATE: Sky1 have picked up the "linear TV rights" to the show in the UK. David Smyth, head of Sky's acquisitions has commented:

"We're delighted to have secured the rights to Fringe, which we believe will thrill a new generation of viewers much like The X-Files did 15 years ago. Together with Lost, we're honoured to be the home for J.J. Abrams' shows here in the UK!"
