The trailer for Charlie Brooker's Dead Set is embedded above; a comedy-horror about a zombie outbreak that occurs during Big Brother, so the TV house becomes a fortress against the undead...
The positives? (1) Brooker's a funny, witty guy and Big Brother "fan", so the satirical digs at reality TV should be fun, (2) because it's an E4 show, they've filmed inside the real Big Brother house, (3) Davina McCall appears as herself, (4) the trailer looks suitably low-budget and grimy, (5) we're promised lashings of gore, violence and swearing, and (6) it stars Jaime Winstone and Kevin Eldon, whom I rather like.
The negatives? (1) Poking fun at zombies has become a cliché after Shaun Of The Dead and Fido, (2) I'm generally wary of TV shows that debut on digital channels like E4, (3) the trailer's very cheap-looking and, considering it's supposed to be for a comedy, contains NO laughs or jokes, and (4) Davina McCall appears as herself!
