STRICTLY COME DANCING 6 – Week 5

Monday, 20 October 2008
Historically, Week 5 is where I start to grow bored with SCD. I know some people get lured over to the X Factor's live stages now, possibly because there's a more tangible purpose to that show – in that you can see people potentially become a global superstar. SCD can't really compete with that, can it? Not helping is the fact there are now a bum-numbing 12 dances to sit through now...

This week, the girls and boys were finally united in the medium of dance:

RACHEL STEVENS & Vincent Simone
Beautiful sea-green open-backed dress, showing a bit of leg during the spins. Some great Shakira-like wiggles and poses from the beautiful S Clubber. A sexy, provocative start to the show.

LISA SNOWDON & Brendan Cole
Wonderful dress with long black skirt (cut nicely to reveal some shapely leg), and Lisa looked very attractive and elegant throughout. Not stunning, but very good.

HEATHER SMALL & Brian Fortuna
Quite a strange silver-white dress, but the dance was delivered with a bit of attitude. Still not a fan of Heather herself, though -- particularly with the '70s afro.

CHERIE LUNGHI & James Jordan
Very stylish white dress with black dressing, but not much else.

HAYLEY HOLT & Mark Foster
Hooray! The energy finally arrived with Kiwi Hayley; dancing in a sexy green-yellow dress that showed lots of leg, with her blonde hair hanging loose. Great fun, very hot.

LILIA KOPYLOVA & Don Warrington
Lilia's yet to really burn it up this year, sadly. A pink ballgown for an American Smooth wasn't going to change things, either. Stylish and beautiful, but rather boring. She needs to get that air hostess cossie out of the wardrobe, sharpish!

ERIN BOAG & Austin Healey
Erin's on a roll this series, although I still think she's the most awkward of the professional dancers. Still, here she was in a sexy light-blue dress that hang raggedly around her body. Very nice.

OLA JORDAN & Andrew Castle
Very cute, as always, and the best American Smooth in terms of sex-appeal, with a great pink dress and parachute-like skirt.

CHRISTINE BLEAKLEY & Matthew Cutler
Well, the pink-purple dress kept her top half under wraps, but there's just something very alluring about the amount of fun Christine seems to be having on this show. Enjoyable, if a bit slow.

JODIE KIDD & Ian Waite
A dark purple floating dress that didn't really excite, but she looked very pretty and danced well.

KRISTINA RIHANOFF & John Sergeant
Wow! Hot stuff from Kristina, only ruined by the rather oafish support from John Sergeant. Curvy, lots of chunky leg, big bosom and a cheeky appeal.

CAMILLA DALLERUP & Tom Chambers
I enjoy Camilla's performances, but that brown trouser-skirt was very weird and she sometimes looks a bit too eager to please, doesn't she?

THE DANCE-OFF
Tragically, it came down to Lilia & Don vs. Heather & Brian... and the Russian minx herself was voted off by the judges! Just like last year, the spiritual heart of SCD has dimmed for me now lovely Lilia's gone. I can only hope the professional dances she takes part in will showcase the firecracker energy and skimpy garments we were mostly denied alongside Don Warrington...
