STRICTLY COME DANCING 6 – Week 8

Monday 10 November 2008
"Erin pulled your dickie off..."
-- Len Goodman (fnar, fnar)

I'm glad we’re approaching the end of SCD for another year (well, we're over halfway.) The X Factor has been far more entertaining recently. If it wasn't for the different costumes, I'd sometimes swear the BBC are showing repeats of Week 4, or something. Anyway, here's another unapologetically salacious review for my fellow heterosexuals -- who nobly let their wives/girlfriends watch Strictly every weekend, and privately rejoice...

CAMILLA DALLERUP & Tom Chambers
Great hair, long orange dress (with floaty arm bits – stop me if I'm getting too technical), open-backed and performed with the usual fun. She's been pushed into the background this series, so hopefully she'll break into more alluring outfits for the latin dances. And was she trying to catch flies with her mouth?

JODIE KIDD & Ian Waite
Frizzy hair, hot blue dress showing an incredible amount of leg, big bosom, bright, blonde, sparkly, but a slow and rather deliberate dance. I enjoyed it, she looked great, but she won't make the final on this evidence.

HEATHER SMALL & Brian Fortuna
After last week's 180-degree turn, Heather's back to basics again. Long red dress with a matching collar, hair-up, heaving bosoms, but not much else.

ERIN BOAG & Austin Healey
Is it because she actually stands a chance of winning, or is it a mid-life crisis? Whatever the reason, Erin certain wins the "most improved" category in the looks department. Silvery-pink dress, great figure, sexy moves, lots of cleavage, knee-high skirt. Wonderful.

CHERIE LUNGHI & James Jordan
Old-fashioned style again; very slow, rather boring waltz.

CHRISTINE BLEAKLEY & Matthew Cutler
Hubba, hubba! I don't think she'll win, but it's great fun watching Christine buzz around the dance floor. This week's bright yellow cossie (with a tiny skirt to show off every millimetre of her fab legs) was a highlight, and the dance was fast and fun. Her infectious smile was the cherry on top of a delicious cake.

RACHEL STEVENS & Vincent Simone
She looked great in her long white dress; '20s-era hairstyle, fun and frothy American Smooth, great bosom, lovely smile. Surprisingly good.

KRISTINA RIHANOFF & John Sergeant
You want to know why John's still in the competition? Is it perhaps because Kristina is the pro dancer most likely to show some flesh? Perhaps so. Anyway, she looked great here: lovely tanned body, lots of firm leg, snowy hair, sensual and funky dancing. John was, of course, utterly terrible. But – vote Kristina!

LISA SNOWDON & Brendan Cole
She wore a cow-patterned dress (looks better than it sounds) that sadly hid her legginess, but she always looks very classy and elegant in dances like this waltz. Good stuff.

THE DANCE-OFF
This happens quite a lot on SCD: a dance-off between two couples where everyone, and I mean everyone, knows what the outcome will be. There are Amazonian tribesmen who could have guessed the outcome. So, after a rather pointless dance-off between Heather & Brian and Rachel & Vincent, the judges opted to save Rachel. Of course.
