STRICTLY COME DANCING 6 – Week 9

Wednesday 19 November 2008
So, John Sergeant has quit the show days after last Saturday's competition. I suppose it had to happen, because the British public just can't stop themselves voting for (a) the underdog, or (b) someone it would be hilarious to see win. And the BBC can't even fix the votes to get John eliminated nowadays. Not that they ever would have, of course.

JODIE KIDD & Ian Waite
Very fast and fun in a floating crimson red dress, that was unfortunately full-length. But still, great to see her improving so much, and this was a strong quickstep.

LISA SNOWDON & Brendan Cole
Sexy samba from Lisa, in an orangey dress that afforded plenty of leg and hugged her hip curves very nicely. For me, she does a good job every week, but I don't think it's really enough to win the series.

CHRISTINE BLEAKLEY & Matthew Cutler
Beautiful pink ballgown, very tender and interesting waltz, but I much prefer Christine when she's having fun and cutting loose in skimpier outfits.

CHERIE LUNGHI & James Jordan
Ooh, playing the guitar on Cherie's legs? Interesting start, Mr. Jordan. Cherie really doe look great for her age, I have to admit. Great figure, slim legs, lots of energy.

ERIN BOAG & Austin Healey
The surgery has definitely paid off for Erin, who now looks a good 15 years younger than she did in 2007. Glitzy brown dress, open-back, hair up, and a very stern but enjoyable tango.

RACHEL STEVENS & Vincent Simone
Oh yes, Rachel's really hotting up Saturday nights now. Sexy black dress, cut high up the skirt to show off her legs, open-hipped, hair down, lots of cleavage. Super-confident sexy stuff. Keep voting!

KRISTINA RIHANOFF & John Sergeant
The baby elephant of dancers drags Kristina around the dance floor again, although she was unfortunately in a more reserved outfit this week – pink-red ball down for an American smooth.

CAMILLA DALLERUP & Tom Chambers
As energetic as ever, in a tight blue dress that covered up her entire front, but a knee-high skirt afforded some legginess. She always gives these dances 100% and stands a chance of winning the whole series, I think.

THE DANCE-OFF
Yes, it came down to Lisa & Brendan vs. Cherie & James this week, which was a shame. Clearly John Sergeant was hoping the public would take his not-very-subtle hints to put him in the bottom two, but it wasn't to be. Obviously, I'd have preferred to see Lisa Snowdon stick around, and fortunately the judges agreed. Bye-bye Cherie... and Kristina, of course.
