Pick Of The Week: Survivors -- BBC1, Sunday, 9pm

My personal picks of the best new British telly starting this week:

MONDAY 17th
  • Clone (BBC3, 8.30pm) Comedy about a cloned super-soldier who turns out to be a super-wimp. Stars Jonathan Pryce, Stuart McLoughlin & Mark Gatiss. Written by Adam Chase (Friends)
TUESDAY 18th
  • The Culture Show (BBC2, 10pm) Winter run of the arts and culture series, presented by Lauren Laverne and film critic Mark Kermode.
  • Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe (BBC4, 10.30pm) The irreverent, rant-prone columnist takes a satirical look at recent television.
WEDNESDAY 19th
  • The Big Bang Theory (E4, 9pm) Season 2 of the US sitcom about two socially awkward geeks who live next door to a beautiful neighbour.
  • Crimewatch (BBC1, 9pm) This month's edition of the long-running series, where viewer help is requested to solve genuine crimes across the UK.
  • The Devil's Whore (Channel 4, 9pm) Historical drama about a spirited aristocrat living through the English Civil War, who is drawn into the anti-monarchist cause. Stars Andrea Riseborough, John Simm, Dominic West & Peter Capaldi.
THURSDAY 20th
  • There's nothing new worth watching, really.
FRIDAY 21st
  • Now That's What I Call 1983 (ITV1, 10pm) Denise Van Outen presents this nostalgic look at the music and events of 1983, with Howard Jones, Kajagoogoo, Paul Young, Tony Hadley, Ali Campbell, Nik Kershaw & Heaven 17.
  • The IT Crowd (Channel 4, 10pm) Third series of the cult sitcom about geeky IT technicians. Stars Chris O'Dowd, Katherine Parkinson, Richard Ayoade & Matt Berry.
  • Eddie Izzard: Dress To Kill (Channel 4, 10.35pm) Stand-up comedy from the transvestite comedian.
SATURDAY 22nd
  • Animals In The Womb: Cats (Channel 4, 7.10pm) Documentary that uses cutting edge filming techniques and CGI to show the embryos of various felines.
  • Bear Eats: Born Survivor (Channel 4, 8.10pm) Special episode of the popular survival documentary series from Bear Grylls.
  • Einstein And Eddington (BBC2, 9.10pm) Drama starring Andy Serkis (as Albert Einstein) and David Tennant (as Sir Arthur Eddington), with Jim Broadbent and Lucy Cohu.
SUNDAY 23rd
  • Guinness World Records Smashed (Sky1, 7pm) Ben Shephard and Fearne Cotton present this series, based on the best-selling book.
  • God Bless America (Channel 4, 7pm) In the aftermath of Barack Obama's historic victory in the US presidential election, this documentary looks at the future of America's Religious Right.
  • Divas II (ITV1, 8pm) Myleene Klass hosts another show where some of the world's greatest female singers perform on behalf of UK breast cancer charities; including Leona Lewis, Pink, Anastacia, Rihanna, Sugababes and Dionne Warwick.
  • Survivors (BBC1, 9pm) Remake of the classic '70s apocalyptic drama about a devastating virus that wipes out 99% of the population. Stars Julie Graham (Bonekickers), Shaun Dingwall (Doctor Who), Max Beesley (Hotel Babylon), Paterson Joseph (Peep Show), Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Chahak Patel & Nikki Amuka-Bird.
  • Mark Lawson Talks To Rolf Harris (BBC4, 10pm) The popular artist and television presenter is interviewed as part of BBC4's Rolf Harris Night.
