The 66th Golden Globes were held last night. The winners I'm most pleased about are:
For Film: Best Picture (Slumdog Millionaire), Best Actor (Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler), Best Supporting Actor (Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight), Best Director (Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire), Best Screenplay (Slumdog Millionaire) & Best Animated Film (Wall-E).
For TV: Best Drama (Mad Men), Best Dramatic Actress (Anna Paquin, True Blood), Best Mini-Series/TVM (John Adams), Best Actor In A Mini-Series/TVM (Paul Giamatti, John Adams), Best Actress In A Mini-Series/TVM (Laura Linney, John Adams) & Best Supporting Actor In A Mini-Series/TVM (Tom Wilkinson, John Adams)
Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler must surely pick up similar awards at the Oscars, no? And is this the first sign that Heath Ledger will get a posthumous Oscar for his turn as The Joker? Mad Men is the Best Drama for a second year in a row! Do you agree that Anna Paquin was that good in True Blood? And period drama John Adams is being shown right now in the UK -- so check it out if you haven't already
