Pick Of The Week: "Pushing Daisies" -- ITV1, Fri, 10pm

My selection of the week's best, new television shows airing in the UK, are as follows:

MONDAY 26th
  • Chickens, Hugh And Tesco Too (Channel 4, 9pm) Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall tries to change supermarket policiy regarding animal welfare
  • 90210 (E4, 9pm) The '90s US teen drama about rich kids in L.A is revived. Stars original actors Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth.
  • What Darwin Didn't Know (BBC4, 9pm) Documentary challenging Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory.
TUESDAY 27th
  • Shameless (Channel 4, 10pm) Series 6 of the drama about working class characters in a rundown council estate. The next episode follows at 11pm on E4.
WEDNESDAY 28th
  • The World's Cleverest Child And Me (Channel 4, 10pm) Comedian Mark Dolan meets the world's most intelligent infant.
THURSDAY 29th
  • Jamie Saves Our Bacon (Channel 4, 9pm) The crusading chef campaigns for Britain's pig farmers.
  • American Dad (FX, 9pm) Season 4 of the satirical US animation.
FRIDAY 30th
  • Gordon's Great British Nightmare (Channel 4, 9pm) The volatile chef campaigns to get the public eating out in local restaurants.
  • Pushing Daisies (ITV1, 10pm) Season 2 of the US fantasy about a piemaker who solves crimes by reanimating the dead.
  • The Site (BBC3, 11pm) Sitcom pilot set in a caravan park. Stars Paul Kaye, Chris Hannon, Annette Badland & Danny Kirrane.
SATURDAY 31st
  • The Feelgood Factor (ITV1, 5.50pm) Eamonn Holmes and Myleene Klass encourage viewers to get fit, with guests Alesha Dixon and the cast of Chicago.
  • Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (ITV1, 8.50pm) Celebrity special with Meerya Syar, Josie Lawrence, Andrew Lancel and Gary Lucy in the hot-seat.
  • The Old Guys (BBC1, 9.30pm) Sitcom about two elderly delinquents. Stars Roger Lloyd Pack, Clive Swift, Katherine Parkinson & Jane Asher. Writen by Sam Bain & Jesse Armstrong (Peep Show).
SUNDAY 1st
  • Shipwrecked 2009: Battle Of The Island (Channel 4, 12.30pm) Return of the desert-island reality show.
  • Charles Darwin & The Tree Of Life (BBC1, 9pm) Sir David Attenborough presents this look at Charles Darwin.
  • Ross Kemp: Return To Afghanistan (Sky1, 10pm) The actor returns to the war-zone for a five-part documentary follow-up to the BAFTA-winning original.
