K-9: Trailer

"Every time there is a bad smell, blame the dog"

There's a bad smell.

K-9 is a spin-off series for the robot dog made popular in numerous episodes of Doctor Who. But, this isn't a Sarah Jane Adventures/Torchwood-style spin-off sanctioned by the BBC. Instead, K-9's co-creator Bob Baker is producing this British/Australian co-production himself, clearly aiming it at children even younger than those targeted by Sarah Jane. Under-8's, I'd say.

Interestingly, Baker retains the character rights for K-9, but the design rights are owned by the BBC -- just one of the reasons for the character's aesthetic upgrade to an iDog. Through the cynical eyes of a 30-year-old, then: the trailer is too long, unfocused, and doesn't explain anything about the concept or characters. But, perhaps even more worryingly... I think it would be improved if they edited the eponymous pooch out of the footage!
