The US Life On Mars comes to FX

Thursday 13 August 2009
FX are going to show the American remake of sci-fi cop drama Life On Mars. The cancelled 17-episode long series will inherit True Blood's timeslot (Fri, 10pm) from 9 October.

Jason Thorp, Managing Director of Fox International Channels UK:

"The original Life On Mars and its follow up Ashes To Ashes have a huge fan base in the UK that numbers millions. We are therefore delighted to be able to bring this version to a British audience. Not only is it a faithful adaptation but it also offers something unique to its counterpart show by portraying a grim New York in the seventies, rather than the streets of Manchester."
I've already covered LOM:US here, if you want to follow along in the archive when the series begins in the UK. Suffice to say, I found it a very mixed bag, but entertaining enough if you're in the mood. Jason O'Mara and Gretchen Mol were pretty good, but it was a shame Harvey Keitel's version of Gene Hunt was so pale, and the ending so... well, atrocious.
