Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) will co-star in the comedy Friday Night Dinner, written by Robert Popper (The Peter Serafinowicz Show). The series will revolve around the Goodman parents (Tamsin Greig and Tom Rosenthal), whose adult sons Adam and Jonny (Bird and Paul Ritter) still come round for the titular get-together.
I'm imagining this is going to be a one-location comedy like The Smoking Room, based on that description. A middle-class Royle Family, perhaps? British sitcoms generally work better the more confined the situation is (forcing the writing to focus on character and dialogue), so this could be very good.
