I think FlashForward's days are numbered. After losing showrunner Marc Guggenheim last October (who was hired to help launch the show because co-creator David Goyer had limited TV experience), Goyer himself ascended to the throne. However, now Goyer's decided to step down from his position, and no replacement has been announced by the network. FlashForward is scheduled to return to ABC with the second half of its season on 18 March, and the finale's already scheduled for 27 May (outside of the all-important "sweeps" period...)
So, the four-month gap between episodes... the generally poor critical reviews... the falling ratings (12.47m - 7.07m in 10 episodes)... the fact its real-time "end date" of 29 April can't serve as the ideal finale because of its scheduling turmoil... and now the loss of Goyer... well, it doesn't look good! I'm certain FlashForward won't be back next year now, and it'll become a prime example of writers trying to launch a show on the back of an attention-grabbing concept, but forgetting that it's the characters you have to nail.
