BBC One HD: 3 November
Wednesday, October 20, 2010 Labels: Technology, TV News
BBC One HD is scheduled to launch on 3 November, available to Freesat, Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media viewers. To celebrate, the BBC will be debuting HD versions of shows like EastEnders, Holby City, Waterloo Road and Human Planet. Songs Of Praise, Casualty, Match Of The Day, Blue Peter and A Question Of Sport will also upgrade to HD very soon. BBC One HD will be a simulcast of BBC One's regular standard-definition broadcast.
The existing BBC HD channel will also be extending its broadcast time from 9 to 12 hours each day, but because of BBC One HD's existence it will likely concentrate on delivering HD content from BBC2, BBC Three and BBC Four.
