'Torchwood: The New World' arriving 1 July

Friday, 7 January 2011

The upcoming fourth series of Torchwood, which has undergone an American revamp, will debut 1 July on Starz in the US and BBC1 in the UK. Filming begins next week on the ten-part miniseries, with the first episode directed by Bharat Nalluri (Life On Mars, Spooks).

If you haven't already heard; Mekhi Phifer (ER) has been cast as CIA agent Rex Matheson, Alexa Havins (All My Children) is playing CIA analyst Esther Katusi, Arlene Tur (Crash) is surgeon Vera Juarez, and Bill Pullman (Independence Day) has joined the series as murderer/paedophile Oswald Jones. Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse) also has a small role as a CIA agent.

They will all be joining original stars John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Kai Owen.

Still excited by Torchwood: The New World? Relieved that British and American fans will get to see episodes on the same day, echoing what happened with Doctor Who at Christmas? And what about that cast? A good lineup, or do you have any concerns?
