FX UK premiering AMERICAN HORROR STORY in November

Tuesday, 13 September 2011
FX UK have acquired the British rights to American Horror Story via Fox International Channels. This is the FX supernatural drama created by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Glee) and Brad Falchuck (Glee), starring Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, Jessica Lange, Denis O'Hare, Frances Conroy and Alex Breckenridge.

Little is known about this new cable series, beyond the fact it involves a family living in a haunted mansion in Los Angeles, and appears to feature copious amounts of PVC catsuits, gimp masks, and other assorted fetish wear. Maybe the mansion was previously a brothel catering for clients with unusual sexual tastes? I have no idea...

American Horror Story is scheduled to roll out around the world the week beginning 7 November, a month after its US premiere. This is similar to how The Walking Dead is distributed globally—but with a much longer gap between the US and international airings, which certainly won't help in the fight against torrents.

Hernan Lopez, President & CEO of FIC:

"FIC has proven that it can launch a series around the world by treating it as a blockbuster movie. We believe American Horror Story is the next global hit that our viewers and platforms have come to expect from our channels."
Marion Edwards, President of International Television at 20th Century Fox:

"American Horror Story is the next great water-cooler series, and we are thrilled that it will be the next major international launch for FIC following their unprecedented success with The Walking Dead."
The series begins on 5 October in the US on FX.
