For any new readers out there, TV Picks is my weekly selection of new TV shows airing in the UK. I can't promise a comprehensive list, but most of the next seven day's best programmes will be mentioned here.

MONDAY 11th
PICK OF THE DAY Britain In A Day (BBC2, 9pm) Documentary from Morgan Matthews looking at 24-hours in the UK, using 750-hours of footage including 11,526 YouTube clips from contributors.
Kicked Out Kids (BBC3, 9pm) Documentary following four unruly youngsters, all on the verge of being kicked out of their home by their parents.

TUESDAY 12th
PICK OF THE DAY Killers Behind Bars: The Untold Story (Channel 5, 8pm) Series where Professor David Wilson uses cutting-edge techniques to solve unsolved cases, starting with the Suffolk Strangler. (1/3)
Glamour Model: Mum, Baby & Me (BBC3, 9pm) Follow-up documentary to Glamour Models, Mum & Me. 16-year-old Georgia is now faced with her topless model mum having a baby.
The Great British Journey: Furness (BBC1, 10.35pm) Documentary on London's docklands over the centuries. Presented by Peter Snow.

WEDNESDAY 13th
The Only Way Is Marbs (ITV2, 10pm) Spin-off to docu-soap The Only Way Is Essex, where Joey Essex, Sam Faiers, Lucy Mecklenburgh and others travel to Marbella.
PICK OF THE DAY A Short History Of Everything Else (Channel 4, 10pm) Brand new comedy panel show. Hosted by Griff Rhys Jones, with regulars Marcus Brigstocke & Charlie Baker. Guests this week are Kirsty Wark & Micky Flanagan. (1/4)


THURSDAY 14th
Country House Rescue (Channel 4, 8pm) Series 4 of the show that tried to renovate various country houses around the UK. (1/6)
The Man Who Made Us Fat (BBC2, 9pm) Documentary about the people who shape and influence what we eat. (1/3)
Mock The Week (BBC2, 10pm) Return of the satirical comedy panel show about the week's topical events. Hosted by Dara O'Briain, with regulars Andy Parsons, Hugh Dennis & Chris Addison. (1/12)
PICK OF THE DAY Dead Boss (BBC3, 10.30pm) Brand new sitcom about a woman imprisoned, perhaps unjustly, for murdering her boss. Starring Sharon Horgan & Jennifer Saunders. (1/6)

FRIDAY 15th
PICK OF THE DAY Concerto At The BBC Proms (BBC4, 7.30pm) Classical music from the BBC Proms. (1/4)
Puccini's Il Trittico (BBC4, 8pm) Operatic triptych beginning with Il Tabarro – The Cloak. (1/3)

SATURDAY 16th
PICK OF THE DAY Primeval (ITV1, 6pm) Series 5 of the monster action-adventure series, a year after its UK debut on Watch. Starring Ciaran McMenamin, Andrew-Lee Potts, Hannah Spearritt, Ben Mansfield, Ruth Kearney, Ben Miller, Ruth Bradley & Alexander Siddig. (1/6)


SUNDAY 17th
Secrets Of Our Living Planet (BBC2, 8pm) New series where Chris Packham investigates some of the world's most diverse ecosystems.
PICK OF THE DAY True Love (BBC1, 10.25pm) Brand new serial drama about several overlapping stories of love in a seaside town. Starring David Tennant, Joanne Froggatt, Vicky McClure, Lacey Turner, Jo Woodcock, Peter McNeill O'Connor & Luke Bryant. Continues every night until Thursday. (1/5)
