The autumn season's definitely arrived in the UK, as my picks for the week's best new shows proves...

MONDAY 1st
May The Best House Win (ITV1, 4pm) Brand new series where homeowners visit and rate each other's home, focusing on British expats in France and Spain.
PICK OF THE DAY Monroe (ITV1, 9pm) Series 2 of the medical drama about a brilliant neurosurgeon. Starring James Nesbitt, Sarah Parish, Tom Riley, Neil Pearson, Susan Lynch, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Andrew Gower & Lisa Milett. (1/6)
Hotel GB (Channel 4, 9pm) Brand new series where a fictional hotel opens for business, populated by celebrities Gordon Ramsay, Mary Portas, Gok Wan, Katie Piper, Phil Spencer, Kirstie Allsopp, Christian Jessen, Kim Woodburn & Hilary Devey, who are there to train a group of unemployed people. (1/5)

TUESDAY 2nd
Ian Hislop's Stiff Upper Lip: An Emotional History Of Britain (BBC2, 9pm) Documentary investigating how the British have expressed their feelings throughout history, most famously with the 19th-century's adoption of the "stiff upper lip". (1/3)

The Best Of Kenny Everett (BBC4, 8.30pm) Highlights of the maverick broadcaster's popular 1980s sketch comedy The Kenny Everett Television Show.
Welcome To India (BBC2, 9pm) Factual series about India, beginning with a look at how the residents of Kolkata and Mumbai raise families in such densely populated regions. (1/3)
PICK OF THE DAY Best Possible Taste: The Kenny Everett Story (BBC4, 9pm) Biopic of the iconic, anarchic entertainer and radio DJ. Starring Oliver Lansley, Katherine Kelly, Simon Callow, James Floyd, Adam Garcia, Jonathan Kerrigan & James Wilby.
Exposure: The Other Side Of Jimmy Savile (ITV1, 11.10pm) Documentary investigating claims broadcaster and entertainer Jimmy Savile sexually abused young girls in the 1970s. Presented by Mark Williams-Thomas.


THURSDAY 4th
Hunted (BBC1, 9pm) Brand new espionage thriller about a female agent being pursued by her own agency for mysterious reasons. Starring Melissa George, Adam Rayner, Stephen Dillane, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Morven Christie & Lex Shrapnel. (1/8)
