BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT 2013 finale

Sunday, 9 June 2013

It was the Britain's Got Talent final last night on ITV, which was somewhat overshadowed by a bizarre act of sabotage from 30-year-old orchestra member Natalie Holt (also of musical group Raven Quartet, who didn't make it through BGT last year). The violinist invaded the performance of Richard and Adam's opera singing, to throw eggs at Simon Cowell while smiling happily, before being escorted off-stage by security. The hilarious/outrageous moment can be seen in the embedded video above. The incident occurs at 1:45.

I just thought it was worth mentioning here, if you missed the show or live overseas. The talent contest was eventually won by shadow theatre act 'Attraction', who were certainly the most talented people involved in BGT this year--unfortunately, they come from Hungary, so their involvement somewhat undermined the title of the show. Hungary's Got Talent, that's for sure. Their act can be seen below:

Yes, their act was a big celebration of all things Britannia for the final. Suck ups. Did you know they've already appeared on the Hungarian and German versions of the show? Is it some sort of merry-go-round?

The deserved runner-up was 14-year-old stand-up comedian Jack Carroll, who has cerebral palsy. A very funny and naturally talented young man. He also follows me on Twitter, which was a surprise to find out. (Hello Jack, if you're reading this!)

I wanted 'wildcard' ventriloquist Steve Hewlett to win this year, but he didn't make the top 3. I have a suspicion Richard and Adam sneaked ahead of him because of sympathy votes.
