Below are my picks of the most notable new shows, returning or premiering on UK screens over the next 7 days...

MONDAY 21st
Scientology: Going Clear (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) Documentary from Alex Gibney about the controversial modern religion started by sci-fi author L. Ron Hubbard, which many consider a dangerous brainwashing cult. Based on the novel by Lawrence Wright. Featuring Paul Haggis.
The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards Highlights (Sky Living, 9pm) Highlights of last night's awards ceremony.
In Case You Missed It (BBC2, 10pm) New TV review series hosted by Dara O'Briain.


TUESDAY 22nd
Deals, Wheels and Steals (ITV, 7.30pm) New series following six car dealers, competing against each other to grab the best bargains.
The Naked Choir with Gareth Malone (BBC2, 9pm) New series looking for the UK's most entertaining amateur singing group. (1/6)
Millennium Children (BBC1, 10.35pm) Documentary about kids born since the year 2000, including street children in the Congo and poor areas of the USA.
And Here is the News (ITV, 10.40pm) Marking 60 years of ITV, a documentary about the channel's contribution to newscasting. Narrated by Tim Piggott-Smith.

WEDNESDAY 23rd
Midwinter of the Spirit (ITV, 9pm) New series about a priest and trainee exorcist who helps the police solve a gruesome murder. Starring Anna Maxwell Martin, Kate Dickie, Nicholas Pinnock & Ben Bailey Smith. (1/3)
World of Weird (Channel 4, 10pm) Documentary looking at some of the weirdest people and their lives, including a My Little Pony convention for men.
Nurse Jackie (Sky Atlantic, 10.10pm) Season 6 of the U.S comedy-drama about an emergency room nurse. Starring Edie Falco, Merritt Weaver, Paul Schulze & Peter Facinelli. (1 & 2/12)


THURSDAY 24th
Nothing. Can you believe it? What's the world coming to?

FRIDAY 25th
Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1, 9pm) Series 13 of the celebrity dance competition. Hosted by Tess Daly & Claudia Winkleman. Celeb participants are Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham, Carol Kirkwood, Peter Andre, Daniel O'Donnell, Anthony Ogogo, Jay McGuiness, Anita Rani, Jamelia, Helen George, Iwan Thomas and Kirsty Gallacher. Continues tomorrow.
Patagonia: Earth's Secret Paradise (BBC2, 9pm) New wildlife series focusing on South American wildernesses. Narrated by Santiago Cabrera. (1/3)
The Graham Norton Show (BBC1, 10.35pm) Series 18 of the chat show. Guests are Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard, Bill Bailey & The Weekend.


SATURDAY 26th
Celebrity Benchmark (Channel 4, 7pm) Celebrity version of the gameshow, where the famous predict how 10 people answered tricky numerical questions.

SUNDAY 27th
Cider with Rosie (BBC1, 8.30pm) Adaptation of Laure Lee's autobiographic memoir; a coming-of-age story set in a Cotswold village after WWI. Starring Samantha Morton, Archie Cox, Jessica Hynes, Emma Curtis, June Whitfield & Ruby Ashbourne Serkis.
