... okay, so there is a positive side to all of this :-)
But... if you agree with why the WGA are striking in the States*, please sign their petition here.
* They basically want a fair percentage of the cash the greedy studios make everytime something they wrote is legally downloaded from the internet, or sold to a custumer on DVD.
For eg: US TV writers used to get residual cash whenever stuff they wrote were repeated on television -- but TV repeats aren't as common nowadays. Instead, studios put old TV episodes onto iTunes for paid downloads and TV shows get released on expensive DVD box-sets. But the people who create/write these TV shows get nothing for downloads and just one-third of a penny for every dollar spent on a DVD (they only want that increased to two-thirds.)
