Director Zack Snyder has released our first look at some costumed heroes who'll be appearing in his Watchmen adaptation of Alan Moore's seminal graphic novel. The image above is, of course, Silk Spectre (actress Malin Akerman)

I think all the characters look very good, although the aesthetic is clearly more in the "90s Batman"-style than David Gibbons drawings were in the 80s. But I'm okay with that. Ozymandius looks slightly unimpressive (to be picky), but Rorschach and Spectre are just perfect. I can't wait to see Dr Manhatten!
Watchmen will be released exactly one year from today: 6 March 2009.
