A quick round-up of the week's TV gossip, starting with casting news: Robert Forster (Jackie Brown) is set to play presumed-dead Petrelli patriarch Arthur in Heroes' third season. Is he appearing in flashbacks? Will Hiro travel back in time and meet with Mr. Petrelli? Or did he fake his own death?
Over on Life On Mars US, Gretchen Mol (3:10 To Yuma) is replacing Rachelle Lefèvre as Annie Cartwright, "a member of the Police Women's Bureau, making do with menial tasks and combating the sexism of the times... [and her] battle for equality on the force will one day pave the way for Sam's contemporary love, Maya Daniels, to herself become a police officer". Mol joins Harvey Keitel, recently announced as Gene Hunt.
Finally, Battlestar Galactica returns with its last batch of episodes next year, and the producers have revealed the 10 remaining episodes could be extended. Speaking to Sci-Fi Wire, producer David Eick explained:
"We're constantly getting into the editing room with 10, 15, sometimes 20 minutes of material that you can't get into an episode. [And] the story has become so critical in order to realise the arc of the series that we can't just cut stuff out and save it for later or push it 'till next year... it's all got to be there. [We were] able to convince the network to let us air... long episodes: [to take] take single episodes and make them double episodes... [and] double episodes and make them quadruple episodes."
