24: Season 7 Cast

Thursday, 20 September 2007
24 will return for a two-hour premiere on 13-14 January 2008 in the US, with big changes and a familiar face hoping to revitalize the show after a turgid sixth season...

The highlights of Fox's press release:

1. CTU has been disbanded.
2. The show will now be set in Washington, D.C.
3. Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) will return to the show, despite his suspected death in season 5.

Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will start Day 7 on trial for his actions in the pursuit of justice, when former CTU colleague Tony Almeida makes his startling return.

Executive producer Howard Gordon: "Tony's uncertain fate near the end of Day 5 left the door open for his return. And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance -- the 24 tribute to a major character's demise -- we always kept this as a possibility."

The rest of 24's new cast, joining Kiefer Sutherland, have been confirmed as:

Cherry Jones (Signs) as President Allison Taylor.

Janeane Garofalo (The Larry Sanders Show) as FBI Agent Janis Gold.

Colm Feore (Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee) as First Gentleman Henry Taylor.

Bob Gunton (Desperate Housewives) as White House Chief of Staff Ethan Kanin.

Other FBI Agents, part of a team investigating the crisis befalling Bauer, will be played by:

Annie Wersching (General Hospital) as Agent Renee Walker.

Jeffrey Nordling (Dirt) as Agent Larry Moss.

Rhys Coiro (Entourage) as Agent Sean Hillinger.

John Billingsley (Star Trek Enterprise) as security specialist Michael Latham.

Carly Pope (Dirt) as Samantha Roth, the girlfriend of the President's missing son.

Ever Carradine (Veronica's Closet) as another FBI Agent.

Although CTU is no longer involved, Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) will be back for another day of shocking events.
